To uninstall the desktop search box:

Windows 98, Me:
  • Right-click on the desktop.
  • Click "Active Desktop" menu item.
  • Click "Customize My Desktop" menu item.
  • Unselect the "Search" checkbox from the list that opens.
Windows 2000:
  • Right-click on the desktop.
  • Click "Active Desktop" menu item.
  • Unselect the "Search" menu item.
Windows XP:
  • Right-click on the desktop.
  • Select "Properties" menu item.
  • Select the "Desktop" tab.
  • Pres the "Customize Desktop" button.
  • Select the "Web" tab.
  • Unselect the "Search" checkbox.


This will remove the search box from your desktop.

Please note: Using some of our free software may install this box again. If you do not agree with this, please stop using that software.
